Ofrenda 2008

I'll be showing the latest (yes, it has evolved again) incarnation of the grape stems sphere at an Art Outlet show next weekend - called Ofrenda 2008 (their site does not work well in Internet Explorer, so try Firefox instead if you have trouble with the link).

From the press release:

Ofrenda 2008 (<--click here for the flyer) Art Outlet presents Ofrenda 2008, an art exhibition of local aritsts' shrines, altars, paintings, photography, music, dancing, magic and spoken word based on the Day of the Dead tradition, at Almaz Ethiopian Restaurant 1212 U St., NW in Washington DC, Friday, October 31 – Saturday, November 1, 2008.
Dia de los Muertos altars and ofrendas will draw the beloved dead to visit their loved ones, feast on their favorite food and drink and listen to their favorite music on the second floor transformed into a gallery of reverent and irreverent remembering of the dead and celebration of life.
We'll have music and performances on two stages and drink and food specials for visitors to the gallery. Indoors and outdoors, we will have artist-built altars. In the gallery, you can participate in the exhibition by contributing personal offerings.
It's the grand Halloween weekend. Come dressed Day of the Dead style!
